Guest guest
Thanks Marci, Yea..that's what we are going to do. We are sort of fighting with this insurance company right now..and also trying to find out from the new insurance company whether they cover it or not. Hopefully one of them will cover it..and then we can get started. We might start and then fight after...depends what response we get and how fast. (And yea. i'm on my husband's insurance) Thanks Mom to In a message dated 7/12/2002 12:13:37 AM Eastern Standard Time, marcisch@... writes: , We changed insurance after began treatment. The former insurance company eventually coverd the cost of the helmet way after we had changed companies and after had finished the treatment. I would think if you got the appointment and the approval from the old company before your initial appointment then they would be obligated to pay. Of course, if they deny the claim then you might give it just a little more time and see if the new company will pay up. You are so close to the change I can see why you are confused. Can you get your husband's HR department to help? (I think you said you were on your husband's insurance). Marci (Mom to ) Oklahoma
Guest guest
, ann gave you some good advice - you really do need to do the footwork if you can and it sounds like you are. You are the best advocate for your baby and noone cares more about the situation then you! Keep very careful records especially when dealing with the insurance company. Keep copies of everything and document all of your phone conversations in a log book. These were the things that I found to be very helpful when I was going through the insurance battle. Does your husband's workplace have an HR department? If so, they could be VERY helpful in communicating with the insurance companies especially in regards to old vs. new company - and they should help you! Ultimately though you will want to be in the loop so keep a firm grip on the situation. Hang in there - insurance is really one of those things that you can't live with and you can't live without!!
