Guest guest
and it was the RUDEST encounter I've ever had. Paige and I were in line at Dairy Queen (it was her idea!!) when a mother pushing a stroller with a young tot in it pulled up beside us. Her little boy had a helmet on and I started making funny faces at him so he'd laugh. He did! The mother noticed and we started talking. After a few minutes (the line was REALLY long) I said; " I apologize in advance if I'm intruding but I was wondering if your son is wearing the helmet for plagiocephaly. You see, my daughter has recently been diagnosed and I'm interested in any opinions on the helmet therapy. I apolgize if he's in the helmet for other reasons. He doesn't even seem to notice it's on! " This lady went about 50 shades of red, and in a VERY loud voice told me it wasn't any of my business why her son was in a helmet and I should mind my own (** & %% business. I shouldn't be so rude as to point it out and stare. I was practically in tears standing in line kicking myself for being so inconsiderate. I guess I shouldnt' have said anything. Should I have just kept my mouth shut? How can I approach the subject better next time so I'm not so rude? TIA, Kate
