Guest guest
Hi I was just curious if anyone has every had a doctor tell them there child was too small and send them to a nutritionist? Mya went to her 12 month well baby check appt and now she has to see a nutritionist. WIC is also having her see a dietician. They said she was way underweight and under height for her age. SHe weighed 16 lbs 3oz. and 27 inches. I tried to say look at me I m no giant. I am 5 ft tall and 110 lbs. and my husband is not big either hes average I guess 5 ft 10 and 180 lbs. I mean Mya eats great she LOVES to eat and is eating all the time. SHes not sickly looking. SHes got baby fat. I mean she is very tiny if I compare her to other babies. But compare me to a lot of women and Im smaller too. I just am wondering if maybe they are right. I just dont know what a nutritionist or dietician can do for her. SHe eats healthy. I mean WIC even said wow shes eating great after I listed all that she ate 24 hours prior. SHe was getting all her food groups in. So I just dont understand. ANyone with experience with this or with some advice or opinion please let me know! Thanks CHristi mom to MYA (DOC band 3/6/02)
Guest guest
Marci I feel she is very healthy and both the doctor and the WIC lady said her blood work looked excellent. And she is eating wonderful so I just dont know what else could be done. I will go and see what they have to say maybe they know something I dont. My other daughter Chloe was always on the low scale. I mean they always told me she was small. But to me she was a chunky baby so unlike Mya. But Chloe once she hit 20 lbs stayed 20 for a very long time. But they never seemed so concerned like they are with Mya. But mya also started out small. SHe was premature 4 weeks and was 6 lbs at birth. Which is not small for a preemie but smaller then my other babies who were 7 pounders. ANyway I will let you all know what the nutritionist has to say when i go, Thanks CHristi > Christi, > > I don't know what to say about this, but has been on the small side > since the start as well. Guest guest
My oldest is 4 (in 2 wks) and he is skinny as all get out I'm not sure of his height but he just now hit 32lbs I know he comes up past my waist. I am 5'5" and I am @$! lbs. DH is 6'2" & 150 lbs. Drake has always been in the 5th percentile for his weight. He takes after his dad. Braeden on the other hand is 6 mos and last time he weighed about a month ago he was 17.5 lb he is a chunk takes after me. I wish you luck .... Sorry you are having to go through this.
