Hi all,

Would you believe I just got home from the ER at 2 am and they think I have

Shingles??!!! I have a nasty rash that really started effecting my nerves

and my neck and back and arm was like tingling and hot- I was thinking

menangitis- because like a dummy I was trying to self-diagnose- but the

symptoms fit perfectly, I get to the ER and I tell the guy this and he thinks

it must be. I have a little bit of a panic attack thinking, menangitis is

fatal, it has to be treated within hours, etc. So, anyway, long story short,

its Shingles, and that doesn't sound too pretty either. They say its very

painful, and I do have discomfort and achiness, but is this it? It's

burning, but I can handle that- just a little nervous from what I have read

and heard for " older " people getting this as my Grandmother did and my Dad

says she was not the same after- but she was like 80? Sorry to ramble-

is on his way home with Dad from the ped, he's ok, I have to stay

covered up, its not airborne. This is a form of chickenpox- its created from

a dormant cell that may have stayed in my body after having chickenpox as a

kid, and either a low immune system or illness can wake it up- so don't run

yourselves down ladies and gentleman! Well, we'll see how this goes- as long

as is ok- I'll be fine..but I'll take all the prayer I can get

though! Just wondering what any of you might know about Shingles or have

experience with.

Thanks!

'Mom
