Guest guest
To mark the start of next week's Parents' Week, the NFPI has today published the results of a MORI survey "Listening to parents: their worries, their solutions". The survey offers a snapshot of parental concerns in Britain today and reports that parents in Britain find teenage children the most difficult to deal with.A full summary of the research can be downloaded direct from the NFPI website at : http://www.nfpi.org/data/research/lis_par.htm
Guest guest
Yes it is, Ruth. But that is how it is. I have three teenagers, two at University now and one at home. They have all had their moments and if I tell people I am the mother of teenagers I know that I have their sympathy. However, they assume that it is a bad time. All I can say is that it is 'patchy' because sometimes they are 'adults' but sometimes they are still 'children' and the confusion comes when as a parent you are all geared up for one and not the other. There is very little support out there for parents of teenagers, on the whole, although you obviously have been able to take on this work. How have you managed to be able to do that? Have you got far-sighted management? Do you have protected time? Re: NFPI Research Isn't that sad . I find teenager years the most intellectually stimulating and fun years. I teach Teenparenting and find parents get a lot out of learning to go with the flow and set boundaries for both themselves and their 'embryo adults' too.
