Christy, I will be curious to see what others can say to you about this- I really do not think that sleeping on her face will flatten it- because the principal problem with plagio is that there is too much time or pressure spent on the back of the head, this includes bouncers, swings, carseats, etc. Whereas, sleeping on her face is limited time as she does not spend the majority of her day on her face. How will side sleeping as opposed to sleeping on her stomach differ in keeping her off her face?- even on her stomach she will have to put her face to the left or right. Sorry, just a little confused- maybe others have heard of this happening, but I personally have not. Eager to hear what others can advise! Sorry! Guest guest
Christy: I have to totally agree with what replied to you as well. I don't remember hearing of CT ever being concerned with face flattening before, your the 1st! Had you noticed Abby's face flattening at all while you did reposition her to the left? I really hate to second guess CT becuz they are the leaders of plagio treatment, maybe someone could clarify this to you? I can't think of any other repositioning tools to help you out any! I'm SO sorry. But I definitely wouldn't sleep her on her belly yet. Keep doing whatever you are doing. Sorry I'm of no good help! Guest guest
I see you have already received some posts on this, but I'm going to second what I've read so far and add that my ped recommended side sleeping from the very start and I just can't see how that is going to flatten the face. I would continue to side sleep her and try to get her to sleep on her back sometimes as well. I wouldn't recommend tummy sleeping just yet, but if you can watch her during nap times occassionally that might be an opportunity to try some tummy sleeping. I wish I could be of more help!
