Guest guest
Hi , One thing that your doctor can still do for you is continue to be your doctor until you find a new one. In other words, he could still help you fill your prescriptions while you are searching for a new doctor. I would strongly urge you to talk about that with him when you see him on your last visit. This way you will continue to have a doctor. Since this doctor has seen you for some time and knows your needs it sounds like he should be willing to help you. I would not suggest you hand carry ALL of your records though. I would ask to get you a copy of the last year and then when you get setup have them sent to the new doctor. Where in MN will you be? Anywhere near Rochester? Mayo Clinic is in Rochester. Good luck with the move and your doctors! Keep us posted! -Meghan > Hello, > > I am a longtime member here, but don't post often. That's quite a change going from Arizona to Minnesota in the Fall. I hope it doesn't affect your PA too much. You might try calling one of the Toll-Free Numbers for TRICARE at: http://www.tricare.osd.mil/main/tollfree.htm or visit the TRICARE provider directory for the central region (which includes Minnesota) at: http://www.triwest.com/beneportal/providerdir.htm > The best advice of course would be from your current rheumy if he has any knowledge of that area. > -- Ron
Guest guest
Meghan, Thanks for the suggestions. My biggest worry is my pain meds as I believe that you can not have a narcotic filled in one state if it is written by a dr in another state. We are looking in a area called Apple Valley, south of the twin cities, not sure exactly where we will be at this time though. I have been to Mayo here in AZ, in fact it was a doc here on loan from Rochester who diaginosed me 12 years ago. Very good clinic. > > Hello, > > > > I am a longtime member here, but don't post often. Guest guest
Hi , Well, you'll be right near the Minneapolis, MN zoo! hehe If it is a narcotic, then that might be a problem. I suppose the other thing you could do is call your insurance company for a list of rheumatologists in your new area right now. Get a letter from your current doctor that indicates your diagnosis and current condition, the medications he prescribes for you, dosages, frequency taken etc. Give 1 or 2 of the new rheumatologists a call now and explain your situation. Tell them you have medical records and a letter from your doctor. Maybe they will be able to see you sooner. Well, I hope some of this helps and I hope you get this ironed out before you run out of meds. Hugs, Meghan > Meghan, > > Thanks for the suggestions. Guest guest
Thanks Meghan. I have what I assume is my last appointment with my current rheumy July 1st, so I will inform him that we got the dates we are leaving and ask him what to do about my meds. I'm sure I'm not his first patient who has gone through this, at least I hope . > > Meghan, > > > > Thanks for the suggestions. Guest guest
Hi again, Since my post this afternoon I have had a couple people tell me NOT to go to Gillette's Children's Clinic for the CranioCap. Has anyone else had any experience with them, good or bad? Who else does this kind of thing in the Twin Cities area??? Tell me your experiences please! ~Sheila mommy to Amaya 5 months
Guest guest
Hi I am from minnesota and my daughter has plagiocephaly andtorticollis really bad at the beginning and the twin cities said that there was never anything awrong with her they kept putting it off so I was referred by my mom and a couple of close friends to go the rodchester mayo clinic and so we had her pediatrician make a referral over there they seen her head and knew right away within 5 minutes what was wrong and dealt with it that next morning we had a 5 hour doctor appointment to get her head casted and all that fun stuff that she hated but it really did her an awesome job. If i were to refer anybody to a clinic for this problem it would be rodchester.wish you luck sincerely the walsh's. www.jjwalsh12@...
