Guest guest
Recently had a slight kidney failure problem going up to 136 on creatinine after three to four weeks on spiro - 75 mg and amiloride 20 mg a day Now  on 10 mg amiloride and 50 mg spiro per day with as high levels of potassium as I can get up to and no added salt. Was also on 20 mg Zanidip but does not appear to be really contributing very much. BP around 140/90 - sometimes slightly higher at 145 - from time to time slight drops to 135/85 approx. Range now appears to be 140/90. Creatinine now at around 110 - just ten below the normal upper limit. Gynecomastia still happening and so being switched to 50 mg Inspra after the Xmas break. 50 mg appears to be available in Oz but as not subsidised will be very expensive. Will still be on amiloride 10 mg with twice weekly blood tests. Information about headaches and depression from other folks have all been closely and gratefully taken on board - including earlier comments that with Inspra, you need to take it into your system slowly. Also I now have a persistent slight to medium swelling in feet, ankles and lower legs - have not been on Zanidip or Norvasc for almost a month now, so not sure where this is coming from - maybe related to kidney issues earlier and it has just not cleared up. Gets quite bad when I sit at computer for long periods of time. Not significantly relieved by putting my feet up. Any comments or suggestions from people familiar with changing over from Spiro to Inspra welcome. Merry xmas to all Kwame Stay connected to the people that matter most with a smarter inbox.
