is getting his Doc Band 8/15....and he is 6 months now. He will be 7 months on 8/21 so he will be close to 7 months by the time he gets the Doc Band. That has me nervous..b/c i was hoping to get him in the band earlier...and now i wonder if it's going to take a lot longer...

Luckily doesn't have any facial assymetries...(although one eye looks bigger than the other at times..but what's weird is it's not always the same eye..so it must be just the way is looking or something...b/c one minute one eye will look bigger and then a few minutes later..the other eye could look bigger). But his head is really flat..so i wonder how long he will be in it. Both my ped and the craniologist had said probably about 2 months.but i feel like they are underestimating the time...

Anyway, i know how you feel....

I can't remember if Logan has tort or not- but I firmly believe that

' smaller eye was helped by stretching the muscle, and facial

massage, and of course the DOC band- but if its tort try incorporating as

much stretching as possible and light facial massage (nickel weight strokes)

in an upward fashion to give the face some slack. Sorry if this does not

relate to you!

I also wanted to throw out there a condition, and I hope I get this right, called Marcus Gunn Hood Eye Jaw wink syndrome. seems to have some of this as well, and in my uneducated guess I feel that the nerve in the SCM was also damaged (I know , no one believes me either!)- but its a condition where the nerve misfires and the eye will open really wide when sucking or yawning- have you noticed it getting bigger at those times? I had a link but lost it- I do recall the info saying it usually corrected on its own (oh boy, did I believe that?!) and left it alone since its nothing major. Could this be what your seeing?

This morning Logan's facial assymetries just looked worse than

usual. His right eye looks so much bigger! I just can't get the DOC

band fast enough. He won't actually be getting it until 8-16 and he

will be over 6 months then. *sigh* I dunno, just thinking out loud

this morning. He has an appt with a pediatric plastic surgeon

tomorrow. We already have the script and LOMN from a neuro, but our

friend worked so hard to get us this appt, and she's paying for it,

so of course we will get a third opinion..

It will be here before you know it. Logan will still be at a great age for some

really good correction.

Best wishes your way!

Yes! Logan does have tort. We go for our first PT visit on

Thursday. What are nickel weight strokes?? How do I do the facial

massage? Thanks a lot!

Good luck at the other specialist appt tomorrow . Don't

worry, Aug 16 will be here soon enough. Logan will still be plenty

young enough to see great correction in his band! Hang in there.

Maybe we can commiserate together on that day. Logan will be getting

his band, and my babies will turn two that day!!

Even though Logan will be over 6 months by then, he is still young

enough to see really good results! Don't let the wait get you down,

it will be herre before you know it!!

Good luck at your appointment tomorrow, let us know how it goes!
