Guest guest
Hi Amie, One trick I have heard, for nights and naps, is to sew a tube sock filled with rice on the back of a onesie on the side you don't want your son to roll on (so that he can't go on his flat spot on that side). I know some parents have also used a tennis ball in a similar fashion. I have also heard by another repositioning mom that the SafeTsleep positioner is good to keep an older baby on their sides: http://www.safetsleep.com/ Hth, Annick (mom to , 17 months old-repo grad) 's plagio website: http://www.geocities.com/alittleone2000/plagiopage.htm --- In Plagiocephaly@y..., " AMIESGOSSIPBOX " <amiesgossipbox@y...> wrote: Anyone have repositioning tips for a > very wiggly/rolling baby? Guest guest
Thanks for the suggestions! The rice idea is out of the question, because he can roll right over it! LOL I had no idea he was that powerrful, but they do suprise me everyday!! We will have to try the sleep positioner, but do you think he can over power that too? Thanks, Amie mommy to Daktoa (STAR), and DAyton!
Guest guest
Hi Amie, I'm just sharing what I heard other mom do, since my son slept well in the side sleep positioner and once he was too old for it, he was so used to sleeping on his side, that he kept sleeping that way (and rolling on his tummy), even up to this day I rarely find him on his back. I didn't use the SafeTsleep positioner myself, but another mom on this list did, and she spoke very highly of it to be successful at keeping her son, who was older, on his side. I looked through the archive but I coudn't find how old he was. Sorry I can't be of more help on this. It might be worth a try also to used a couple of receiving blankets, very tightly rolled together and taped in a cylynder shape, that you would fix (I would try taping them on it first, then maybe sewing them if it is effective) on a snug onesie behind the shoulder of the side you don't want your son to roll to. If two isn't enough, maybe try 3 blankets or vary the shape of your roll... You might also try to place a custom made wedge in the same manner, anything that keeps him from rolling to that side. Even if he can roll over it, the idea is to place is so that it is not a comfortable position for him to stay in to be on his flat spot. Another idea, if you can't keep him off his flat spot, might be to use some kind of memory foam (like they use for some of the new baby positioners) to relieve the pressure on the back of his head while he sleeps (you can see some here: www.foamorder.com). Hang in there! Hth, Annick (mom to , 17 months old, repo grad) --- In Plagiocephaly@y..., " AMIESGOSSIPBOX " <amiesgossipbox@y...> wrote: > Thanks for the suggestions!
