When I talked to the orthodist last she said if she had it her way

she wouldn't see any babies till they were seven months?? Is this

right? She said it just doesn't make sense to band a baby who is

going to grow to quickly out of the band, and need a second one? What

is everyone elses opinion?

NO way Amie!!!!!!!!!!

Is this your 2nd orthotist who told you this???? It's best to band

babies UNDER 6 mos of age, yes they are growing very fast at that

age, which is why it's best to treat them so young. That way they'll

hit so many growth spurts which will in turn, round the head out!!

Many babies do in fact need 2 bands when beginning treatment younger,

but that's wonderful, it means the band is working!

How's the STARband fitting now?

Amie,

I guess in a way I can see your ortho's point on waiting, but I would

think it would be for different reasons, such as neck strength and

control. My neuro didn't even refer us to a specialist until the

twins were a little over six months, but his reasoning is that he

wanted to make sure we exhausted the repostioning course first.

Debbie,

That was my line of thinking, but she left my head spinnion on that

theory. I gave her tha addy for this site, but am yet to see she has

joined? Maybe I'll get lucky, and she will atleast come look.

Dakota's band is still shifting a lot, and we are still trying to see

about the DOC band. Going on eight months on now, so I really believe

that the DOC is the way we need to go soon!

Thanks!

Amie, mommy to DAktoa,and dayton!
