So far everything is okay. I believe that Olivia's doctor is now thinking that

she was bitten by a mosquito and contracted West Nile Disease. Apparently it is

in Oklahoma now. We do not know that for sure, but they are leaning that way. In

that case, of course, it would not be contagious, but.....I'm sure you know

where I'm going with that!

Thanks for asking!

Marci,

I've got the news on right now and they are talking about the West Nile

virus that has been confirmed in Dallas recently. I didn't know it could be

fatal. If it was west nile, that's good news for , but so tragic for

Olivia. Keep us posted...

Marci,

Oh my....I am glad is ok...but I feel so sorry for Oliva and

her family. This whole west nile virus scares me to death...it has

been found about 10 miles from my house and it is like a freaking

mosquito fest around here....I wish they would spray here...the are

talking about talking out farther lets hope so because that would

hopefully include us. Please keep us posted...you are all in my

prayers...Trisha

,

Once we got the diagnosis from Dr. Francel that it was plagio things moved a

little quicker. It took a good long time to get an appointment with Dr.

Francel so you are one step ahead there! Dr. Francel ordered a CT scan, but

since you have had x-rays that shouldn't be necessary. Can you bring the

x-rays with you for him to look at? Bill Barringer (the ortho) tries to get

people in fairly quickly. Once you have the casting it takes approximately

two weeks to get the band. We went in for weekly adjustments at first then

bi-weekly.

I have a friend that was a nanny and she was very attached to the children

she cared for. I would imagine that it would be a very rewarding job. I am a

little older then you - I'm 34. I actually started college in California and

then my father retired from the military and we moved with my mom and dad to

Oklahoma and attended OU. Knowing what I know now I would probably attend OCU

if I had it to do again. OU wears on your nerves really fast. :-)

I'm sure the drive will be less then enjoyable, but hopefully the results you

will get will be well worth the time and effort. You could check into Angel

Flight - many members have used that service to get free flights for their

babies band treatment. Let us know how the appt. with Dr. Parke goes.
