Heidi,

We still have not received any final word about what exactly happend. No

other children have been effected so we feel like we are out of the woods so

to speak. Currently the doctors think she was bitten by a mosquito carrying

West Nile Syndrome (or disease - can't remember exactly). It isn't always

fatal, but of course in Olivia's case it was. The kids in 's class made

a big card for the family. The daycare took donations for expenses incurred

by the family. It's been such a difficult period for everyone. I can't even

begin to imagine the pain that Olivia's family is experiencing right now.

Thanks for your prayers and your soothing words.

Marci,

Do they think it was the fever that caused her organs to shut down, or some infection? I know that with fever you have to be very careful- perhaps being covered with a blanket made the fever rise and started all the complications? Don't want to place blame, just maybe ease your mind that maybe its not a serious virus going around. How's everything going- is the daycare still closed down?

Wow - smart guy. There was a big news report on West Niles the week after Olivia

died. I didn't see it but my mom said it sounded like exactly what happened to

Olivia. Her doctors are thinking along those lines now too. We still have not

heard the final word and I'm beginning to wonder if we ever will.
