I finally got a letter of medical necessity...

Hi all,

I took Sam and Sara to their well baby checks today and was talking with my ped about my insurance battle. I mentioned that we have a face to face appeal next week and asked if she had any advice. She said, "just tell them that it is medically necessary". This opened up a wound for me. I told her that the specialist wouldn't write a letter of medical necessity because he couldn't be bothered. He knew Cigna wouldn't pay, so he didn't want to waste his time. THE PED WROTE A LETTER OF MEDICAL NECESSITY RIGHT THERE ON THE SPOT! Can I still send it to Cigna? I am so lucky to have the ped that I do - she referred me immediately at their 4-month check up and didn't want to waste any time getting us treatment. They were in their bands shortly after 5 months and graduated in May. Now it is the middle of July and we are still fighting with Cigna, but we're doing it with nice, round heads!
