Guest guest
We went to 's 8th weekly DOC-Band adjustment appt. on Friday, and after pointing out the improvement in 's head shape, the PT said, " Well, you're done. He doesn't have to wear the band anymore. " I knew would be graduating soon, but I was still really surprised and pleased!! Perfect timing, too, as we were going to a friend's lakehouse for the weekend, so we didn't have to worry about taking the helmet on and off around the lake. We were told from the outset that , who received his DOC-Band at 4 1/2 mos., would probably need to wear it for 2 to 2 1/2 mos. As it turned out, he wore it for 8 weeks. He is now 6 1/2 mos. old and has a nice round head. I'm actually a little sorry that I didn't take more pictures of him in his helmet and that I waited until the last week to start decorating it with stickers!! Well, just wanted to pass our good news and encouraging story of quick success on to everyone. We're a definite case story for early diagnosis and treatment. One last question for the graduates--is the exit casting the same as the initial casting? (I'm assuming it is.) Good luck to everyone else, and here's to nice round noggins! Holly & (who is SO happy to have a nice round noggin now and NO helmet)
