Guest guest
First I just got to say I am sorry for not keeping up with this site, but things are always crazy around here. Friday we went in for an adjustment, and ortho america decided he just needed a new helmet! There actually supposed to make another two weeks of unsuccesful adjustments, but the band just isn't working. On the computers they said by his measurments the helmet should actually shift to the left, and not the right. Since this is so puzzling, and a few other are having this problem they are gonna try to end it with me! Dakota's helmet is the worst of them all, so I guess they are gonna test his to see if the others are save able! Lucky us! I just can't imagine what those others are going through, but then again there cases aren't to be as bad. He was re-casted on friday, and she mailed it out same day shipping. The new helmet is supposed to be ready, mailed, and to be fitted this coming wednesday! It's actually to be in tues, but I made the appt for the next day just in case. Right now our best guess why it's shifting so much is do to a bad casting, and that's makes sense due to the 1st bad orthodist. I actually took pictures of the first casting, but didn't have a camera on hand for the second. Looking back on the 1st pictures I have noticed SO many differences, and he didn't really pay much attention to the marks he made. IF only I had known! Anyways, we have his old band to wear untill wed, but due to fever/heat he is not wearing it. Unfortunatly since they are gonna test what's wrong with it I will not get to keep it, but I will the second band. So, Wednesday he will get his 2nd STAR band at 8 months old, and are still hoping for correction. As for the DOC band we still aren't sure, but do see the plastic surgeon in a week! I will update once again once we know more, but I wanted to share our good news! Amie mommy to Dakota (STAR), and Dayton!

Guest guest
Amie: I am very happy to hear Orthomerica finally agreed to be done with the 1st defective band. Personally, I feel they should've immediately casted Dakota for a new band and put him into that right away instead of wasting any more precious time. Better late than never though. You are a great mom for noticing & addressing the problem promptly - way to go!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that his new band fits perfect from day one & you'll finally get some correction! 8 mos is still plenty young enough to get very good correction with a good band! Let us know how the fitting goes Weds., wishing you the best of luck!
