Do the pulls inside the rack, using the cords as a target. This way you can establish 1RM and gauge fatigue from set to set. For specific addition or subtraction of forces (inertial or gravitational) they are great. They also allow us to add/subtract forces in other planes (such as forward or backward) when attached at various heights in front of or behind you and attached directly to the Dumbbell or Barbell. I might mention that I have found it best to " cover " the cord with a towel or other protectant so that the " knurling " of the bar does not " fray " the cord and eventually wear it out. I purchased a set of bungees from COSTCO a year or so ago that had " plastic hooks " that were exactly the right size to " snap " on an Olympic bar. They were perfect. Sad to say, I currently cannot find anything but the metal hooks and or plastic covered metal that do not fit and must be attached (securely) with some other method. Regards, A.
