Guest guest
, I'm sorry that Logan doesn't like his PT - maybe he will get used to it over time? It's great to hear that the tort is mild! Also glad to hear that the specialist is good to go on the band - that's great news too! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the insurance will approve or deny quickly. If not you might want to seriously consider postponing the appointment with CT. If you want a chance at getting insurance to pay you have to go through the proper channels. Congrats on the good news! He has a slight head tilt that we are going to work on. It's so hard to do the PT though, he hates is so. , Your appt. with Logan seemed to go pretty well. Have you ever tried doing Logan's exercises while he's conked out? I know that for us this really helped, but he was a heavy sleeper and some haven't been able to do this with their kids as they sleep lightly- although I recall would wake up sometimes and we would just comfort him and he'd fall asleep and we'd start again. I know how hard this is to wrestle with them and hear them cry at times, hang in there, your doing a great job and all your hard work will pay off in the end. Try to find ways to "trick" him into exercises (making him reach high, look high, low, making him turn hard to look at something, tummy time, always prop midline when sleeping in carseats, etc.). You can work on that tilt by sitting him in your lap, tilt towards the tort side, and the opposite muscle will work in pulling that head back midline (he may be a little young for this yet, experiment and keep this in your memory for later). If I can help you in anyway, please email me. Good luck with the helmet too! ' Mom

I want to try it while he's sleeping. I get so nervous about waking him up though... sure would be better than hearing him scream while awake.. , Just keep in mind when your doing it to be gentle, and take those stretches slow. Also, the tilt is the most stubborn symptom of tort to beat- it can come back as a comfy type position for them when they are sick or teething. We also would lay on a pillow or couch arm in the opposite direction of the tilt (he had left tort, so we would lay him on his left side, propped upwards, to go in the opposite direction of the tilt when sleeping, supervised. If you are not dealing with Logan's range of motion- if he can look both left and right well, the tilt should be easier to work with- although it may be slow going too- don't fret if you don't see instant results, work with it and it will get better. Good luck! ' Mom

Guest guest
, I'm so glad to hear that things are on their way. Good luck with Logan's PT. Adam hated it too, but since his tort was also mild, we didn't have to attend very long. I noticed that you have Keystone insurance and you live in PA. I believe that Keystone is a Blue Cross product. We also have a Blue Cross insurance plan and they paid 100% for Adam's Starband after precertification. Hopefully you will also get a positive answer from them as well!! Good luck Staci & Adam Lafayette Hill, PA
