Guest guest
Hi : You MUST get that doc to refer you. Ask politely the first three times, then start demanding. There was a lawsuit in New Jersey where the parents and child were awarded $2million because the docs did not refer the child in a timely manner.Look under the files section of this website - it's all there. There is another mom whose child ended up having cranio who was not referred, and it did not turn out very well for her. Remember, you and only you are the one who can make a difference for your child's life. Sometimes these docs just don't care, and of course, they are not the ones who end up living with their decisions and a child who is deformed and with low self esteem or worse. Craniosynestosis can cause brain damage, depending on how the sutures are closed and the pressures within the brain. Do not take no for an answer. Do what you have to, take the child to a specialist on your own, or at least call a specialist and have the specialist call your doc to persuade the referral. Get creative. Print out articles found in the " files " section of this website and of the other websites to show your doc. Do not let the doc brush you off. But get your child the help and attention that your child needs. Good luck - I know you can do it!!! > thx , i will have it checked out..soon on tues. i hope she don't have cranio..the bump is really noticeable from far away...it drives me crazy cause she don't have hardly any hair.. thanks for the advice..now if i could get my doc to refer me to a specialist. -mary
