Guest guest
Further update on Haydens appt- the doc said his head was fairly significant- significant enough for a band. They did say that his neck ROM was mild and whatever I was doing must be working. I found myself in the waiting room looking around at all the babies thinking Hayden's head isn't as bad as that one, or his head is worse than that one--- even my husband was diagnosing heads in the waiting room and while shopping. He is all for the band- and telling his friends that Hayden will have his own hockey helmet for a while- which is kind of cute. But now I am the reluctant one- more concerned about cost, and the all familiar question ? will is straigten out on its own?? Thanks for the support Marilyn- Haydens mommy 7 months
Guest guest
Marilyn, I think its totally normal to be reluctant at a time like this. Even though I knew in my heart that the twins needed to be banded, once we had the prescription, I started secong guessing everything. And the main question I had was the same as yours... will it round out on its own. Personally, I was too afraid to wait and see in case it didn't round out. I had to go with the decision that I would be able to live with, and in my case that was banding. You have seen a tremendous amount of correction with repostioning, you might want to continue with that for a little bit more, its all about what feels right to you. Go with your instincts! Guest guest
Marilyn: Ah yes, now the good old question " should we or shouldn't we? WILL his head round out on it's own? Are we overreacting?, etc. " Most of us have been in your position at one point or another. My husband & I had a hard enough time deciding whether or not to band Abby and she was definitely in the severe category, so I can imagine the difficulty it is if the case is mild or even moderate. Like everyone else has replied, go with your gut instinct. Whatever you do, we'll support you 150%! Let us know. Who knew parenting would be this tough huh???????? NOT ME! But it sure is worth it!
