Guest guest
, That's a great idea - making sure the rebuttal documentation is more recent than theirs. Do you remember the name of the article that you used? Was it the one off of the CT website? The copy of the BCBS article that I have is very fuzzy, and I think I saw a date of Feb 2000 on it, so I hope I can still use this argument. I keep reminding myself that the external review committee has to be more reasonable than the morons at Cigna. Maybe I'm stressing for nothing. I sure hope so. Gail Gail - BCBS TEC assessment Hi Gail, BCBS used their TEC assessment to deny me also. But, their assessment was done in 1999. So, one of the articles I enclosed with my appeal was from the journal "Pediatrics" and discussed hos children with plagio has an increase incidence of ear infection and are at high risk for developmental difficulties. I also pointed out in my appeal that this article was published in Feburary, 2000 *after* their assessment. I don't know if it's too late for you to mention that. BCBS stated that the external review board's decision would be final and the claim would be closed after that.....that turned out to be a good thing for me. Take care. Guest guest
Whoops, I accidentally hit send before I typed anything. The article I'm talking about is from the plagio group's website under " Files. " It's listed under " Pediatrics " and the title is " Long Term Deformational Outcome in Patients with Deformational Plagio. " I hope you can use it. --- Gail <momofivftwins@...> wrote: > , > That's a great idea - making sure the rebuttal > documentation is more recent than theirs. Guest guest
Thanks . Now I just have to check dates - we did use that one already, so I just need to re-refer them to it. My husband wrote a letter for the external review tonight, but both of us are in pessimistic moods tonight, so I think I'm going to re-write it tomorrow and lessen the sarcasm in it. Thanks for your help. Gail Gail - BCBS TEC assessment > > > > > > Hi Gail, > > > > BCBS used their TEC assessment to deny me also. > > But, their assessment was done in 1999.
