correction in older infants ???

Hi,

Just curious - - anyone get corrections with a band/helmet with

children 13+ months? If so, please tell the age they were banded,

how long they wore it, and the corrections they got?

Hi ,

My daughter started her helmet at 9 months. She wore it until she was 15 1/2

months. I realize that this is a lot later then the 13 months you mentioned,

but she did get correction in the last couple of months in the helmet so that

would have been in the 13 to 15 month range. We have soooo many people in

this group whose children got really good correction after 12 months of age

so there is hope!

My Abby began her DOCband treatment from the Chicago clinic at age

11.5 mos. with severe plagio. Abby wore one DOCband for 4.5 mos and

rec'd 50-60% correction which we're thrilled with! She graduated at

age 15.5 mos.. Mind if I ask why you are asking?

I am in the process of getting all my daughter's records and the

nuerosurgeon's office that she saw at 13 months sent me a letter that

was in her file. It said that he wanted my daughter evaluated by

another doctor to see if a helmet would be successful at this age. I

was shocked to see that because he never told me about following up

with an evaluation from this doctor. When I was in his office he

said the band would not help much at her age (then 13 months), that

it was torture, and her hair would cover the plagio up! I am so

frustruated because I now know that she could have gotten excellent

improvements at that age. I am now going through this with my son

but have gotten a referral to a band-friendly doctor. He will be

seen next month so I am trying to catch this early and be persistant

in his treatment. I am still upset about the doctors giving me

misinformation and not treating my daughter. Does Abbey still have

any asymmetries or flatness?
