Guest guest
Barbara, I was wondering if you got to see Patty or Ariana, or who? I do know that with us, was severe, so the time with the " experts " lasted much longer than with other tort kids, but I was grateful that craniosacral therapy was used- but again- he was severe and we needed anything just short of a miracle. My husband and I were his biggest pt's- we only saw Patty 2x a week- for a 1/2 hour each- that's only an hour each week, and even in that time, she was not always able to get those deep stretches in because he would get upset at times- and other times she was able to get a really good stretch with no problem- that's why I was so thankful that for the deep stretches that she failed to do for the most part, we were able to do at home and while he was sleeping. If you feel at all uncomfortable with not continuing on with pt, talk with the Director and ask that you continue until you can " learn " all that you need to learn so that you will be able to do everything on your own. You have already scheduled appts. at CT, right? So you will be in the area and its not a matter of the drive if that's what they are telling you. You can also tell her that your interested in craniosacral techniques and would like that to happen. Let me know what you are doing in terms of stretching (email me), and I can tell you if we did anything at all differently as well. If Sofia has great ROM, that is wonderful- even though at times she still prefers the non-tort side, just keep encouraging her in everyway to look towards that tort side. The tilt is always the last to go, and I can let you know of some exercises that are helpful for that too. Check into the tort board as well, I'm sure you'll get some great advice from moms there. If Sofia has already had 2 months of pt- you probably know most of the exercises (mostly like Orthoseek's web page)- we switched pt's at his 10 month appt. due to insurance- and she discharged us because there was nothing to teach me that I hadn't already learned from the prior pt- he was ahead of his milestones and we had better results working with him than a stranger anyway. Please email me if I can help you further! ' Mom
