Guest guest
, If you are going to CT- usually they have all of the bath supplies there on site- but you can always bring your own and calling and asking just in case might be a good idea- I would think they would have bath stuff even at other centers, they get that kid dirty, I doubt they want you driving him home that way For the DOC band, they put the stocking over the face, mark where the eyes, nose and mouth are, and I hope I remember correctly, I believe it did cover his whole face with those cut outs for nose, mouth- not for the eyes as I remember they didn't want plaster falling into them- I think that was partly why he hated it so much. It really is neat- they lay them down, start with the front part of the head, then sit them up (this is when began to cry) and do the back. Then it starts to get warm and after about 5-10 min., the two pieces, front and back, seperate with a little handle that they form on the top of the cast. was immediately smiles when the stocking and cast came off- plaster gets on Mom and visitors too, and you wash it off very easily in their sink/bath tub. 10 very short minutes of not so much fun for a very good cause! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Will someone be going with you and to the casting? If not you might to arrange for someone to come along. An extra hand is very helpful. Bring some distracting toys that make noise or music and bring any comfort items that has. You might want to bring your own bath supplies although I believe CT does have everything that you would need. The familiar things from home might be nice plus a nice fluffy, soft towel. It's not hard to get the stuff off and you will be amazed at how quick the ortho can cast a baby! Best of wishes with that and let us know how it goes as soon as you can!
