Its not the heat, you were right on target. My son is (I know there

is another mom with a who recently joined as well) and we did have a

ped appt today. It went pretty well. The guy was very open in that he

admitted he didn't know a lot about it. He didn't think ' plagio was

a big deal (as in very mild) but he said he would support a band if we

wanted to do that, however, he wouldn't be willing to write a letter of

medical necessity for the insurance. I also called Straight Ahead and asked

about the referring physician for the Westerville family you spoke of. They

gave me a ped near Ohio State and I called her. She has referred a few and

so has another doctor in her practice. I am sooooo annoyed about this

because I specifically asked about any drs in this area that had

referred to her and she said she didn't know of any. I could have seen this

ped already and probably already had in the band. Further, the ped I

saw today said that at the very least he would refer me to another

specialist (not the one in Cleveland) if I was uncomfortable with the first

neuro's opinion. Since I wasn't sure how my insurance handled second

opinions, I called and discovered that as of 1/1, I no longer need a

referral to a specialist (as long as its in network)!!!!! If only I had

known several months ago!!! Soooooo.....the ped near OSU is supposed to

call me back tomorrow, hopefully she'll discuss the whole thing with me over

the phone because I don't think I can handle another drs appt right now.

Also, I would really like to avoid that CT thing (which I have managed to

get rescheduled to 8/5!!! of course the neuro won't be able to see me that

day) Personally, I think the neuro is just hoping to find cranio so he can

perform surgery (I wouldn't let him near my son with a ten foot pole!) I

have read numerous articles and studies that show cranio can be ruled out

simply by looking and touching. Many parents here have reiterated that.

So, to make a long story short, I didn't get exactly what I wanted, but I

got more than I expected!
