Guest guest
Thanks to every one for your encouragement. It is such a HUGE releif to talk to others who have been there and know what I am experincing and facing. Yesterday I spoke with a lady from Missouri's Early Intervention Program (here it is called FIrst Steps, in OK I think it is Sooner Starts), they will pay for Lucas's helmet, IF he qualifies. To qualify the DR has to either say Lucas has a developmental delay, deveopmentla disablity, or cranial facial anomoly. I would be noramlly very leery of things like this, but any help we can get would be better then none at all. They will come and asses Lucas (in our home) to seeif he will need any further therapy (PT, OT) if so they will cover that too. I wasso happy to hear that same agency will help us pay for us to have respite care. It isbasiaclly where they pay a sitter (of our choosing), up to 20 hours a month7.50 an hour!! I was told I could sign a waiver so my insurance did not pay, and I did not haveto make the co-pay.That way the state will pay and I do not max out hislifetime benefits. It has been a long few weeks here, my Dh has beenworking 60-70 weeks to try and help pay for some of these unexpectedexpenses. It gets to be a really long day when you are with them 24/7. That was such an answer to prayer. We have pretty much made up our mind to get the band.
