Guest guest
Mike, It's been a while since I used my gray BrainMaster, but I don't believe there is any way to get that to sample at 256, even in BioExplorer. I may be mistaken on that, but I don't see anyplace to actually reset the sampling rate in BioExplorer for the BrainMaster device. The BrainMaster+ device does allow you to set sampling rates in the Device Properties. I've never used the 800Hz sampling rate, so I really can't speak to that. I'm not sure I understand your question about th 1/4 second feedback latency. Many necessary items you add to a Design introduce some degree of delay, and you can only try to minimize them. The sampling rate of the amplifier isn't one of those things. It is more of a measure of the resolution or detail of the signal. However many measures go into actually producing a signal, it is how fast that signal gets through the software that results in latency. People like believe that 1/4 second is a huge delay and would really affect the results of feedback. Others believe that 1/4 second is faster than necessary and that the brain can make sense of the information even with a greater delay (just as you could understand what someone was saying even if you could only hear them in an echo. I take a sort of middle ground that faster is better, but I don't make a fetish of it, so I use 1/4 second as a reasonable target (based on an analysis I saw several years ago of the delays involved in the process of the brain processing anything it sends out which results in returning information). Hope this helps.
