Guest guest
Where can I get activated charcoal or loose carbon - and is it the same thing? I'm looking for some for odor removal. I still can't get rid of the paint smell from when my apartment was painted. I heard about a very musty house where no-one could get rid of the smell for 6 months, then after putting charcoal around the in the rooms, the smell went a way after one day. They just used regular charcoal, but it was only mustiness, I'm dealing with chemicals, I don't know if the activated charcoal will do anything, but it's worth a try. Thanks. I'm in Canada, so I prefer a supplier hee, othewise will order from the US, would appreciate names of suppliers. Elyse

Guest guest
I have been wanting to get some activated charcoal for my plants. I heard it is good to put on top of the soil to prevent mold, etc. I am not sure but I think you can get it at a Lowes or Home Depot, but not sure. > > > > Where can I get activated charcoal or loose carbon - and is it the > > same thing? Guest guest
Since the people you got suggestion from used regular charcoal, you can get 100% natural wood charcoal without any firestarter or other chemicals in it from Wild Oats Food Stores. They aren't brickettes but 'chunks' or wood slices. Since they have them, you could probably find an online source. Regular charcoal like that would probably be cheaper for good quantity of it than activated charcoal but then again tip from person about garden charcoal may be good source also. Just thought I'd give you yet another thing to look into. Since it worked for your friend and I can pick up the 100% wood charcoal easily, I think I may leave on open bag of it in my musty room that I haven't been able to investigate reason for yet. I keep it closed up and vent off but window cracks open a tiny bit for some fresh air. --- In , " macedgeca " <macedgeca@...> wrote: > > Where can I get activated charcoal or loose carbon - and is it the > same thing?
