Guest guest
I have a simple question for people. Now that I have been on cholestyramine for two 1/2 months (2-3x day, now trying to go to 4 and do it right..) my background level has been declining, it is very clear. I feel as if I feel new mold exposure differently. There are definitely 'levels' of exposure, with different symptoms. Now as the background level goes down, I experience more of them.. it seems.. I still get headaches, bad ones, when I stir it up. (Getting a lot of these now as I'm trying to figure out a way to clean and pack up my stuff in my moldy apartment.. this seems almost impossible.. but where else can I do it? The hallway in my building is even worse than my apartment, the mold smell is almost overpowering. What a mess.) Because of this lower background body load level, I am also starting to notice much more acutely how the mold exposure 'scrambles my thoughts'. It also makes my ability to focus my vision much worse.. (I am already quite nearsighted.) On cold nights we have to reduce the airflow through our house because otherwise its absolutely freezing.. thats when this happens the most.. it seems.. (Sometimes in the morning I can barely read at all. I often feel as if an elephant had been sitting on my head.) For this reason, I am so happy that spring is on its way..more ventilation = more dilution.. Molds in the building include aspergillius, stachy ... *Anyone else have the same experience?*

When you leave, anticipate a heightened level of reactivity that will take you by surprise. You are going to wonder how you ever stayed alive in that place when proximity to mere items brought out will drop you in your tracks. If you want to make it through, make provisions for total avoidance when this occurs. I don't normally tell people what to do unless they ask, but based on what I hear, I would advise that you retain help in packing and storing your belongings and do not return. The 'allegic model' of illness predicts that getting out will result in guaranteed " improvement " quickly, but this does not apply here. You are going to be in for a very nasty surprise, in that things get much worse before they get better, just when you least expect it. -
Guest guest
I think my thought processing is much better after leaving the mold. However, after having not had an infection UTI for 1 year 9 mos, I came down with an infection. I am trying to figure the culprit now, two possibilites. I have a new friend here with I think a mold-infested home. She admitted extensive mold when I first met her about 6 mos. ago, now is denying it. Says her husband spays " lysol " ....it is a joke. But, a concern since she is a cancer survivor. Two, then I was cleaning gararge, moving around old plastic containers of my old photos, keepsakes, etc. I wonder if I stirred up the old spores. Careful in my house with humidity, air, etc..... Was thinking of getting a cart, moving it all into the sun for awhile, days in fact. Any ideas appreciated. Guest guest
I moved my art work into a friends garage, and installed a de- humidifyer in there- it has worked great to keep things from molding- she can now store stuff there also > > I think my thought processing is much better after > leaving the mold. > However, after having not had an infection UTI for 1 > year 9 mos, I came down with an infection.
