I even brought up the fact of the many hurricane victoms getting ill from mold, and I wrote her again when I saw that she had that movie star from titanic on , who is a environmentalist, his name escapes me, the one that drowned in the end, but it never hurts to keep trying, I also wrote to Dr. Phil >>>> Don't give up please. Guest guest
I have written to her before as well, and just sent another one after I saw this email. Maybe a flurry of emails will help, but I doubt it. I have never even gotten an acknowledgement either. Actually makes me think less of her, as she could use her position to do so much good, but she probably is decorating one of her 5 or 6 houses, while the Katrina victims don't even have a house (or trailer). --- who <jeaninem660@...> wrote: > I have wrote to her several times, no answer. Guest guest
Sharon, I couldn't say it any better!!!! I told my husband just the other day that I could die tomorrow knowing that I have & continue to do all I can to make people aware of the mold problem at my school. Others ,there, stick their heads in the sand & hope it will go away. But it isn't and now others are sick & possibly many children. I know that I can take the big test in the end and PASS ! I plan to be standing at the pearly gates shouting I TOLD YOU SO to every naysayer. I will continue to fight, call, write, and tell EVERYONE about the debilitating illness caused by toxic mold! Someday, someone will have the guts to stick their neck out, just a little bit, and do a show on toxic mold. They will, eventually, have to listen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your letters don't have to be perfect just write from your heart!!!! Sue It is becoming more and more apparent everyday that there are financial motivations that stifle this issue. Guest guest
I saw that episode also, with Leonardo DiCaprio and a princeton professor. I always write oprah too. This time, I wrote Oppenhiemer, the guest on with leonardo that day. He did answer and said that his sister in law is chemically sensitive. We had him on our local radio shows here at WJFF. He was pleasant and brilliant. I asked that when possible, he let people know about those suffereing from the global effects already - who dont need to see the florida coast line rise, or see ice packs melting. we are careful on a daily basis to avoid contaminents. The warnings for us are far closer. Anyway, writet he guests, shes too busy promoting fashion and perfume these days. when shes good, theres no one better, but we cant count on her talking about sufferers of the industry that pays her ads. Guest guest
Relationships suffer big time!!! Our illness completely changes a family and our illness is very unique!! Some of us are sick from homes which puts a trememdous burden on a family. Most of us can't return to our workplace and I find it difficult to even go out socially with friends.Even if we could find a safe place to work, could we? Some of us feel better but will never be 100% .I'm sure most of us fell like the carpet was pulled right out from under us. Nothing will ever be the same and family life suffers a lot. I wish Dr. Phil or Oprah WOULD listen and then the rest of the world would could hear it as well !!! Emotionally, financially, physically, & so much more, our lives have been altered!!! Sue JuJust had a thought and would love some input on this. Dr. Phil is always concerned about relationships. What if we send him articles how toxic mold will affect cognitive functions and alter personalities. Often those who have neurological changes from toxic mold illness (including children) are not aware of why they are thinking and reacting as they do. Neither can family members and friends understand why the sudden changes in personality.st had a thought and would love some input on this. Dr. Phil is always concerned about relationships. Rather than putting kids on Prozac and other Rx drugs, explore environmental toxics as a possible cause of their abnormal behavior. Someone will eventually take notice and help us out but not if we just sit and complain and talk to each other. Re: [] Re: Write to Oprah Maybe Oprah needs the same " re-framing " as places we seek accommodation: maybe she needs to be asked to do a show on toxic encephalopathy and reactive airway distress. --- snk1955@... wrote: --------------------------------- Hi All, Have been reading posts that are indicative that you all think your words are not being heard. WRONG!!!!!! You most likely will not get an individual response. Hell, nobody knows what to do with us. But, keep pushing! pushing! pushing! Maybe it is just the secretary in the office of the Senate that hears our words, or maybe it is the janitor that cleans the building and has a constant runny nose. That secretary has alot of friends, as does the janitor. Don't stop! We are like raindrops creating a flood. The more we come down, the bigger impact we make. We are getting there. SOON. From Kennedy's office: Hey Sharon, Good to hear from you. Sorry Iâ?Tve been slow to reply, but things have been busy with the Senate budget debate and an impending bioterrorism bill reauthorization. Iâ?Tm glad to hear that youâ?Tre making progress! I havenâ?Tt done much on mold lately, but it hasnâ?Tt fallen off the radar. Hopefully things will settle down a little in a few weeks, though itâ?Ts very much dependant on the bioterrorism reauthorization. It shouldnâ?Tt be contentious, but these days you never know. Anyway, keep in touch! The timing is GOOD. But, YOU have to keep on pushing!!!!! Call whoever, clang pots and pans. It's all relevant and you are making a difference whether you see it or not.
