Guest guest
Howdy hi, friends and neighbors... Brown always said we gotta " take it to the bridge, " and I'm wondering if you can help me find the bridge between a couple notes. Here's the men's EDT/EDP I'm blending: Top: bergamot 16, lemon 6, juniper berry 3, cinnamon 2 Heart: balsam fir (fir needle) 4, tuberose 3, rose 2, ylang ylang 1 Base: guaiacwood 6, ambrette 4, patchouli 2 What stands out is the fir/juniper and tuberose/rose/ylang, with a hint of guaiac in the background. (I wanted to try combining the fir and rose because a great men's scent that's discontinued, Pancaldi, had that combo.) I like the green " bite " of the fir, and it's well balanced with the florals (though the fir and florals don't seem to be the most harmonious complements), but the florals are a bit too buttery. I think I need either a drop more of patchouli or another note that's dark and masculine to give it more weight. What do you think: more patchouli? clove? tobacco? though not really dark, peru balsam? or vetiver? oakmoss? I'm open to ideas...thanks!
