My vote, of course, is with the perfumer/artist. They are bound by their

employer, in this case, but it gives hope to the artisan or niche perfumer,

IMO. A perfume is a work of art. An artisan is not just a 'craftsman' as

mentioned in the original article, but an artist. It's late on Friday, and

I'm kicking back for the day, but we really should discuss this more. Not

saying it'll affect any of us directly (the French court ruling), but for

the sake of defining and publicizing our art, our creations, we should be

prepared with a concise and eloquent description of what we do.
