Guest guest
I'm not sure if this belongs into natural perfumery, but I have used Polysorbate 20, which is supposed to be natural, quite effectively as an emulsifier for EOs in water based formulas, or formulas containing water (Vodka). I'm not selling perfumes or sprays yet, but I've used this for years for personal formulas, and it works great. Personally I found having to shake EOs up before each use, not only annoying, but the EOs separate so quickly from water, I'd have to keep shaking while spraying. Just to add to the discussion on separation issues, when high percent alcohol might not be an option, for whatever reason. However, if someone is looking for a clear solution, this is not an option. Emulsification will always give a milky look. SBH

Emulsification will always give a milky look. Not necessarily. I think the last sentence is key. The oils should be emulsified in Poly20 BEFORE adding them to the vodka or alcohol. HTH.
