- since I am working in the center of " drugdom " I have worked with

many patients on getting off Pazil, Effexor, etc. etc. What I have found

most helpful is Neuroscience urine testing - finding out their levels of

serotonin, epinephrine, norepinephrine, GABA, dopamine. Early on I had too

many patients who were mixing all the supplements etc. with their drugs and

this concerned me. With the results I am better able to see what is going

on, i.e. do they have enough inhibitory neurotransmitters so that anxiety is

not a problem when they go off meds, and what about their adrenal support

etc. I don't always use Neuroscience's supplements - costly for patients,

but I have had great results in many areas including anxiety -because I

think anxiety is tricky. First the inhibitory support needs to be adressed,

and then the excitatory support. When I do take them off their medications I

go very slowly- many times decreasing doses on one day per week, then two

per week etc. because not only will they actually have 1/3 the amount of

neurotransmitters found on the lab - falsely high because of the drugs, but

the receptors for these neurotransmitters have been either up regulated or

down regulated depending on the individual drug and person. I have had

patients who once they were balanced in this way were then ready to do the

dietary changes and other BTG's that I find are extremely important to

" remove the cause " and start to help with the healing path of the patient.

I hope this helps.
