My first thought when reading this was parasites. I am not entirely sure

why I thought of them, but I think they are most active at night and if

so maybe they are eating up what he ate. It is unclear to me if you

have pursued this, but I thought I'd mention it.

I agree with 's idea about the cortisol; he metabolism seems to be

elevated at night.

You maybe should try Lycopodium they will sometimes get up in the middle of the night to eat. Also, really need to treat dysbiosis.
