Guest guest
Haley, you were right. I was being really snotty and I apologize to everyone. Thinking about it, I also don't fully agree with my own statement, being as much worthy research is often kept from being heard about by these 'gatekeepers' of scientific 'legitimacy'. .... Thinking about the publishing situation, we need more open scientific publishing models (along the line of arxiv.org for physics, etc.) And more ways that people who want to contribute to the body of knowledge can do so without encountering barriers that have nothing to do with the science they are doing. (i.e. politics, their credentials or lack of formal 'credentials', etc.) Then, their ideas can be evaluated by others objectively, and if they turn out to be right in the long run, they can even get credit for it. The situation with mold illness and politics is a perfect example of why this kind of alternative knowledge channel is desperately needed.
