Guest guest
I am in the process of changing over to an organic alcohol for my perfumes, and have been getting a lot of mixed information on the purchase of the alcohol, taxes, permits, etc.... Is anyone here getting a drawback on their tax paid on alcohols. If so, how extensive is the process for submitting all of your formulas for approval. Also, if purchasing alcohol already taxed, are you doing so with or without a permit. One email that I received from Federal, says that I cannot get a tax exemption, or drawback, without going through the process, submitting all of my formulas for review, etc.... State says that it doesn't matter either way. Tax must be paid and there is no refund policy if the product is made with drinkable alcohol, regardless of the use. When I originally checked into this a couple of years ago I spoke to someone on the federal level that mentioned a specific form/permit. but did not require submitting formulas. Now I can't find any of my original notes. I did a quick run through of the archived posts. A bit was discussed about this, but I did not see where anyone was actually implementing any of the procedures. Thanks in Advance, Zz..........
