rose petal jam and other fragrant goodies

This is def the time for all of this.... Here in the Marches.....our pans are

simmering....

lovely pictures and explantion of rosepetal jam......

now is the time for rosehip jelly, plum sauce, apple chutney......crab apple

I gathered my organic plums on Saturday cut them up with stones added malt

vinegar, cinnamon, sugar, lemon rind, and cayenne.... cooked, simmered , sieved

reduced.... not awaiting more reduction, bottling and settling for a few

months.... bit like some perfumes...... turned out a beautiful rich burgundy

colour and the aromatic odour sent salivation .........

next crab apples and tincture from the woods (leaf mould many years

old......havn't a clue how that will turn out....not together but hmmmm

maybe???? !!!!
