Took a day to watch, read and try to feel the pulse of this group

before posting the suggested introduction. But, ready or not, here I

am. LOL.

I'm a 46 years young female happily residing in NW Washington State -

I am 10 minutes drive to the beach and have a year-round view of

snow-covered peaks. I do cat rescue and am currently " managed " by 4

of them. I have more plants inside than most folks have out.

My interest in all things natural began at such a young age, I can't

specifically recall...but I do remember getting kicked out of

Campfire at age 8 for making dandelion tea for my troop! From there,

it's been a 5th gear over-drive crash-course through life; learning,

experiencing and wanting more. I have this insane desire to learn

something new everyday and have been caught - at midnight and on my

way to bed - grabbing the dictionary so as to learn a new word

before closing out my day. Anal? Maybe. OCD? Definitely sometimes.

Positive Attitude? Always. (kinda scary, huh.)

I've been making natural skin care products for friends and shows

for many years and have been adding to my herbal knowledge along the

way. Aromatherapy is a relatively new area for me and so full of

possibilites, it takes reflection over a cup of green tea to calm

myself enough to experiment with just one or two essential oils.

I am craving to know so many things...why do I love any citurs

scent? Why do my friends and customers just adore my " love " blend

yet it gags me and causes agitation in my boyfriend? (Called " Gosh "

and is simply equal parts of Rosehip, Jasmine, and Hyacinth)

What is it about any Lavender that most folks worship but it makes

me nauseous, headachey and snarky? And why oh why does my blend

smell so different after an hour...a week...on her...on him?

I want to learn so much more not only about crafting natural perfume

blends but also to create blends that can inspire emotion and

reaction in others...in positive ways, of course.

I do think I'm in the right place.

Now, if only I can behave and not be forced to do the " Shalimar "

punishment...can I volunteer for " Brut " instead?

Thanks for reading, Vykky

Yee-haa Vykky! Another Northwesterner! Sounds like you're much

further north of us and you got our view from Vashon trumped. Hmm...

close to the beach and a view of mountains... Sequim? Pt. A? Pt. T?

You certainly came to the right place, and I can tell already that

we're all in for a treat. Your style shoots right off the page when

I'm reading your posting. Thanks for such a great and informative

intro.

A thousand welcomes! (or at least lots and lots of 'em!)

Andrine

Vykky,

Welcome aboard. I joined the group several moons ago, and I nuts about

squirrels (no pun intended:)) I am not a licensed rehabber but I do try to

help the sick ones that come to visit me. I hope to be one, one day.

I am also a lavender plant freak. So I am jealous... You have alot more

varieties in the neck of your woods, than over here in PA. I find that

lavender EOs just does not smell quite like the flowers. Just can't seem to

find a sweet one. Maybe it's me?? I hope you get alot of inspiration from

the many experienced and talented people within the group.

kind regards,

Poh Yee

Had to leave the last bit in V, they're two of my most-disliked scents, too.

Thanks for introducing yourself, and enjoy the archives and look

forward to making a lot of friends here.

persisted through three days of beginners Tai Chi and it helped)

Welcome to the group. I meant to say " Hi " earlier! I make soaps and

butters, and have recently joined this group as well. It's wicked-

awesome here!
