Sorry for the confusion. In this example I was attempting to show

you not only a " formula " for a dilution, but the calculations for

producing 10 grams of it. The formula itself would be:

CLOVE BUD OIL 10%

Alcohol .90 (90%)

Clove bud oil .10 (10%)

Total: 1.00 (100%)

OR

CLOVE BUD OIL 10%

Alcohol 900

Clove bud oil 100

Total: 1000

....

To test you on your understanding of this, how would you calculate

making a dilution of 40 grams Violet leaf absolute 1%?
