Hi -- we don't allow flaming here, so you're safe ;-) We do allow open discussion of real-life incidents to help educate everyone. Yes, I've heard a lot about the vanuatu switching. >For quite a while the Aura Cacia brand passed on its Australian as E. >Indian even though the testers in the front of their racks still >contain E. Indian. (Sampling a product that doesn't represent the stock >on the rack behind it). Has anyone else had this experience? There has been a lot written about vanuatu here and on other groups, so anyone not familiar with it, the issues that still surround it by those who are conservationists, etc., you can do a search. I'm hoping on the side of good will that it is ethically grown and harvested, and that it can fill in the S. album market. It does smell quite different, missing a lot of the " creaminess " and lasting power of S. album, but after initial hesitation, I now use it in my Riverside perfume, and I do love it. I just pretend S. album isn't available anymore (it really isn't according to many, even the Agmark is tweaked, they say) and I've gone with the S. spicatum. >I sent a whole raft of e-mails to them and a snail mail letter about >this and never got a single reply. That's a shame. Did you call them? I would. >Very, very recently, I bought some " Snow Lotus " brand sandalwood oil >that also claimed to be E. Indian. It was not. No response as of >yet. I remember hearing about this brand years ago, but I never followed up. How long ago did you email him? My email was down for half of today, and if something like that happened to him, any emails were just plain lost. Give him the benefit of the doubt if he's not really experienced with buying S. album. If his nose isn't trained, and he doesn't, or can't afford to do GCMS's, he may have been fooled. You can ask for your money back, but many don't refund open bottles. Did you sample first? Sounds like a boycott potential to me and a good subject for the press. Do not throw away your bottles of Sandalwood when finished refill them. I refilled mine with jojoba oil and it smells just as strong as the original product. Back to Eden Botanicals I guess bb __________________________________________________
