Guest guest
Hi Everyone! I've been a member here for a few months, so I want to introduce myself. I did send an intro a couple of months ago but it has disappeared into cyberspace:) I love making blends, and am just beginning to dabble in natural perfumes. I think I'm part " mad scientist " -- I love to experiment, especially with scents. I grow a lot of aromatic plants in my garden and I use them to make tinctures and infused oils. I make my own creams and lotions, and many of my blends and infused oils are used in those. I also have a small copper alembic still and have been experimenting with producing hydrosols. I'm an Aromatherapist, and I teach Aromatherapy certification courses at Australasian College. As others have said here, creating natural perfumes is very different than making Aromatherapy blends. I'm also a mom, with three kids, and we live in Huntington Beach, California (a.k.a. Surf City). I'm thoroughly enjoying the group and all the discussions about natural perfumery. I'm learning a lot, and love hearing about everyone's experiments. The archives are great! Whenever I have a question, I do a search there and so far I've been able to find what I'm looking for. Happy Holidays! Deborah Halvorson
