Invitation to the House Magazine: Westminster Briefing - Tackling Ignorance, Raising Awareness and Improving Sexual Health Services Locally, Thursday, 24th April 2008

I enclose our forthcoming Westminster Briefing entitled “Tackling Ignorance, Raising Awareness and Improving Sexual Health Services Locally” which will be hosted by The House Magazine on Thursday, 24th April 2008 held at the Commonwealth Club, Westminster. The Government’s ongoing commitment to reduce risky sexual behaviour and tackling sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is underlined through various measures. Some of these include the national chlamydia screening programme, the 48 hour access to genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinics and public awareness campaigns to encourage safer sex. However, the latest Health Protection Agency’s figures show a rise in STI rates and highlight a worrying increase in sexual infection diagnoses since the 1990s. The IAG’s report, “Why Sexual Health is a Cross Governmental Issue”, outline 27 points on how sexual health services can improve and says a review of current strategies is needed. Delegates at this Westminster Briefing will have the opportunity to consider the latest Government efforts to improve sexual health and lower STIs, discuss what is working, what needs to be improved and what more can be done. Participants will also have the chance to share examples of best practice in tackling the problem. This and a number of important issues will be discussed, please refer to the attached agenda for further details. Should you/your colleagues wish to attend, please book online (click here) or complete and return (by email or fax) the attached reservation form at your earliest convenience in order to secure your delegate place(s). I would also be grateful if you could forward the details of this event to relevant colleagues within your organisation. Kind Regards, Mac Daid ______________________________ Mac Daid | Research & Development Manager Westminster Briefing T: 0207 096 2917 F: 0207 096 2946 M: 07753 285822 E: .Macdaidwestminster-briefing W: www.westminster-briefing.com ******************************************************************************** If you do not wish to receive future e-bulletins about relevant Westminster Briefing events please sendan email to info@... with the word "DELETE" in the subject field
