Comprehensive area assessment, important for school health in the future

Dear Friends,

On Saturday I fed back to some of you the importance of the next JSNA (joint strategic needs assessment) but could not remember what JSNA's ugly sister CAA (the 'outcomes' bit) stood for, only that the first ones were coming soon. I attach the original 2007 inter-departmental note on "comprehensive area assessment" - a simple picture of this is also in today's Community Care (27 November, pages 14-15).

In 2009 we need to fight for the voices of School Health (including children's voices!) to be included in each JSNA, and for the CAA to include outcomes relevant to young people's concerns.... otherwise these will just become an enormous and burdensome paperchase, instead of being a vehicle to improve children's services, Nationally.

Your dreamer of dreams,

Woody.

Hi Woody,

It was lovely to see you on Saturday and thank you for the cake and coffee!!

Can you please forward the attached letter to Sherwin as a matter of urgency. I don't appear to have her email address here at home.

Can I also remind you that you were going to look at access to the HVSN senate group for me.

Many thanks

Gill

Dear Gillian

I have received your e-mail enquiries about timelines for registering portfolio migrations.

I have just started in post as the professioanl adviser for specialist community public health nursing, children and young people.

I do apologise for the delay in responding, but we have just had the SCPHN committee meeting to discuss the process and come to a agreement.

It has been agreed that completed portfolios need to be into the HEI's no later than 31st December 2008, but that HEI's will then have until 31st March 2009 to submit them onto the NMC.

I hope this will be clear and workable.

best wishes

Alison Wall
