Today is obviously press release day.  The new NMC members have been announced; detailed biographies etc on attachment; no SCPHNs at all.  Headlines below. Best wishes "The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) today welcomed the announcement by the Appointments Commission of the names of 12 members of the reconstituted NMC Council.   The new members will take office on 1 January 2009 under the leadership of Professor Tony Hazell, who was appointed as Chair (designate) of the new Council in September 2008. The Council will provide strategic direction to ensure that the NMC fulfils its statutory functions and that the organisation retains the trust and confidence of patients, the public, and the 670,000 nurses and midwives on the register. Commenting on the announcement, Professor Hazell said:  “The new Council will ensure that the NMC will be focused on delivering its statutory functions and activities, achieving good outcomes for patients and the public and developing good working relationships with the nurses and midwives on our register and our key stakeholders."  The names of the 12 new Council members are: ·       Alison Aitken ·       Baron·       Dr Kuldip Bharj·       Professor Judith Ellis·       Joyce Fletcher·       Lorna s·       Gayle ·       Grahame Owen·       Pyle·       Carole Rees-·       Professor Renfrew·       Professor Jane Tunstill" best wishes sarahcowley183@...http://myprofile.cos.com/S124021COn
