I see from the front page of my Observer this morning, that the

Tories are planning to introduce the idea of a 'maternity nurse' for

every new mother. Visions of 'bringing up baby' and Verity

(self-styled 'maternity nurse') advising mothers to put the babies

outside all day to get the air, and leave them alone in their own

room all night regardless of whether they cried or not!!

Seriously, if the Tories are looking for areas where they think their

new policy could improve on the current government's line in respect

of support (or not) around pregnancy and the early years; what advice

should we be giving them?
