is well worth

watching for insight into democracy at work as well as the really worrying

allegations against the

NMC. That things have reached a stage of needing an independent enqury by the

Health Council

Regulatory Excellence body and that the Gorernment would not rule out asking

the Privy Council to

intervene shows the strength of concern about the allegations of an apparantly

dysfunctional

organisation. The regulation of health visiting on part 3 of the Register did

get a mention but it

was not clear if it was specific enough to the other complaints to be included

in any review.

Happy birthday Senate and I hope you continue to post all the interesting

items relevant to our profession.

I found the debate about the NMC very enlightening and also very

frightening, that we are bound to financially support an organisation that

practices such behaviour.
