I think the NMC are getting confused with family health nurses which was a

completely separate issue and FHN's were piloted in Scotland and hence the

circular.

'However, Council agreed in June 2004 that annotations of specific areas of

practice for health visitors, school nurses, occupational health nurses and

family health nurses (Scotland) could be made in the short term (Council 3 June

2004; 96.04 Agreed iv. Paper C/04/57 )'

Maybe my colleagues on Council at NMC at the time can recall there was an

agreement not to annotate but 'mark' the Register because of concerns of the

differences between occ health and health visiting. This appears to be

forgotten??
