Guest guest
To and everyone who replied, Thank you all for the advice on choosing a PS. I had an appt set with Dr Melvin in Portland ,OR for July 8. I switched to the Dr's in Bellingham, WA when I discovered that he doesn't always remove the entire capsule. My implants were textured and sub-muscular, so there may be some scraping necessary. According to Dr Helen office, their practice does total capsulectomy and will remove other foreign material around the capsule if they find any. I have a consultation with them on July 7. They have a Dr M Whitney, who apparently was previously an instructor at Harvard and written up in the Boston Magazine as one of the 20 top Dr's in Boston in 2003. I'll let you know if he ends up being sympathetic and thorough. Sounds good from talking with the scheduler. Thanks again Sharon Lynda <coss@...> wrote: I would not go to anyone who does not make a habit of removing the entire scar capsule. There is usually much residual silicone in the capsule. Besides, the capsule and implant should be removed in one piece so that silicone is not released into the body.
