Guest guest
There is to be a review of the way the NMC operates, announced by minister Anne Milton yesterday, which refers back to the highly critical report in March 2008, and the action plan to improve effectiveness in a number of key areas. The statement says there has been improvement in 'some areas,' but also refers to November 2011's 'fitness to practice' report, which it suggests shows that imporvement in this area continues to fall below the standard that the public and registrants have a right to expect . The new review will look at the NMC's organisational structure, resource allocation and operational management and 'establish what further action is needed to ensure that the NMC is effectively carrying out its statutory duties to promote high standards of conduct and practice, in order to protect the public.' The details are attached, or on the NMC website, http://www.nmc-uk.org/Press-and-media/Latest-news/NMC-welcomes-strategic-review/This explains why the review of the SCPHN part of the register has been put on hold. best wishes Cowleysarahcowley183@...http://myprofile.cos.com/S124021COn 2 of 2 File(s) 03-2012 NMC welcomes strategic review.DOC NMC strategic review min state.pdf
